This phrase irritates me.  Servers are suggestive sellers.  Instead of “What can I get you to drink?” which is almost always followed by “Water with lots of lemon and sugar so I can make my own lemonade” try something more creative.  I use: “Can I get you started with an ice cold Bud Light, Perfect Magarita or a refreshing Strawberry Lemonade?” BAM. I just sold 4 Strawberry Lemonades, a Raspberry Magarita and a Bud Light.
